In 2006, Raj Parikh and the staff at the firm were the engineers behind the winning submission for Global Green’s Sustainable Design Competition for New Orleans, providing structural and MEP consulting on a net-zero energy development for the Holy Cross Neighborhood after Hurricane Katrina.
In just a few weeks, the team was able to design a full complex, including affordable single and multi-family housing, a community center, recycling center, bus stop, daycare center, public green spaces, and a vegetable garden. Every building and space was designed with the residents’ quality of life in mind, resulting in energy efficient, weather-resilient, and locally-sourced structures that maximize system utility and performance.
