Evaluated and reinforced historic reinforced concrete roof structure to accommodate a newly designed recreation & rooftop amenity space.

Description
Our firm was brought in by the Architect who designed a market-trendsetting rooftop amenity space.

We evaluated the existing roof framing and building structure to determine its load-bearing capacity, and then reinforced it to carry the enormous load of a swimming pool, outdoor kitchen with dining areas, glass covered patio and entertainment area.

In addition, our staff assisted both the Architect and Contractor in creating and selecting a glass canopy above the rooftop swimming pool to withstand wind loads and offer UV protection to bathers.

Finally, we filed under our NYS Professional Engineering License with NYC Department of Building and NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission to include this modern amenity in a historic district.
